If you want to take advantage of the Nook Friday event, you'll need to have your copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons fully updated, which was introduced in the massive Version 2.0 Update that was released on November 3rd.

Nook Friday Schedule of Events

- Every year, the Nook Friday event at Nook's Cranny takes place in Animal Crossing: New Horizons starting the day after American Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in November) and running until the end of the month

- On November 26th, 2021, Nook Friday will kick off for the first time

- Every year, the sale period comes to an end on November 30th

- Please keep in mind that in order to participate in the Nook Friday event on your island, you must have both an upgraded Nook's Cranny shop and a Resident Services building

What Happens On Nook Friday Is a Mystery
Throughout the event, Timmy and Tommy will be offering a 30% off discount sale in the Nook's Cranny shop on your island, which is located inside Animal Crossing: New Horizons. For example, an Ice-Cream Display item normally costs 11,000 Bells, but during Nook Friday, it can be purchased for only 7,700 Bells, saving you hundreds of Bells. To commemorate the occasion, they've appropriately decorated the building's exterior windows with plenty of SALE stickers, and they'll tell you more about the festivities when you arrive for your first visit.

The Nook Friday discount of 30% off is valid on all items available for purchase in Nook's Cranny on every single day of the event, including Saturday and Sunday. This is an excellent opportunity to assist in the completion of your item catalog by purchasing out the entire store each day if you can afford to do so!

The items sold inside the Nook's Cranny cabinet are also included in the sale, so you can take advantage of this opportunity to stock up on consumables like Tools and Wrapping Paper if you so desire.

Remember that Nook Friday isn't just a one-day event, as most Animal Crossing: New Horizons events are — you can take advantage of these limited-time discounts all the way through November 30th, so make sure to check back in frequently!

Purchase Thanksgiving Day items and recipes.
Although not technically related to Nook Friday, you can find some Turkey Day items for sale in Nook's Cranny at the same time as the Nook Friday sales period, even though they are not technically related to Nook Friday!

First and foremost, the'seasonal' slot in the lower left corner of the shop rotates through crafted versions of some of the items from the Turkey Day Set. DIY Crafting Recipes for these same Turkey Day Set items can be found inside the cabinet, along with the Cozy Turkey Day DIY book, which can be purchased separately. Additional Cooking DIY Recipes for the four dishes that will be served at Thanksgiving can be purchased in the cabinet as part of the Turkey Day Recipes book, which is available for purchase in the cabinet.

Even if you don't manage to earn any of these items organically during the Turkey Day event, Nintendo allows you to pick them up at Nook's Cranny starting the next day if you happen to miss out on the festivities. Plus, they're on sale for a limited time as part of Nook Friday!

On the GameCube, it's a throwback to Sale Day.
Nook is a fun fact. Animal Crossing: New Leaf isn't the first time the series has drawn inspiration from the real-world holiday shopping event Black Friday! Players could find a special Sale Day taking place on Black Friday at the town's Nook shop all the way back in the first Animal Crossing game for the GameCube, which was released in 2007. To commemorate Sale Day, Tom Nook is selling special mystery Grab Bags for Bells, which contain a random set of three items from a variety of categories, including furniture, carpets and wallpapers as well as clothes and other accessories. Tortimer can also be found at the Wishing Well, where he sells the Market Model item, which is a rare find.
